They argue that 3D maps of the galaxy distribution produced by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) show that the universe is not homogeneous, but fractal. This, too, challenges the Copernican Principle, and as such, most of the cosmologists I spoke to dismissed it outright….
